More than 2,500 students from Miami, Broward, Tampa and West Palm Beach County participated in the contest by drawing, creating a replica or writing about specific themes of colonial Florida.
As a special surprise, Ambassador Cristina Barrios invited Spanish singer Inma Serrano to perform for the students and parents. Everyone in the room sang together the last verse of the song capturing a very special moment of Hispanic pride and artistic appreciation among all.
The pictures from the ceremony are now available on our Facebook page and on our Flickr page.
